Unrecognized Mediation

So does anyone know some sources for organizations or individuals who promote Unrecognized Mediation?  Schiffman and Kinzer spring to mind...  But I'm looking for actual quotes.

I did an update to the FAQs section, by the way.  I attempted to answer the question:  What is Messianic Judaism?

Let me know if there's any errors in it and I will update it accordingly.

Shalom,

Peter

  1. Quotes:

Kinzer: "Israel's no to Yeshua can properly be viewed as a form of participation in Yeshua."
    (Post-Missionary Messianic Judaism page 223).

More Kinzer: " Paul HINTS (emphasis mine)on the mysterious Christological significance of Israel's no to Yeshua in light of the Church's of supersessionism, anti-Judaism, and violent persecution." (Same book page 225).

More Kinzer: "I do believe that the Abrahamic covenant offers Jewish people access to God in and through Yeshua. That does no mean that all Jews, by virtue of being Jews, have a right relationship with God. It does mean that God's favor still rest upon Israel, and HE MAKES A WAY FOR HUMBLE AND FAITHFUL MEMBERS OF HIS PEOPLE TO ENTER HIS PRESENCE THROUGH THE UNRECOGNIZED MEDIATION OF ISRAEL'S MESSIAH" (Emphasis mine).

    There you have it.

  2. Sorry, the last statement is from the Havurah Newsletter of J4J in the fall of 2003.

  3. Too bad Kinzer was not there to inform Paul, that the gospel did not actually need to go the Jew first, or better yet, to the Jew at all. It would have saved him a lot of trouble, especially the lashes and stoning's that he encountered.

    1. I laughed out loud. I don't care who you are - that's just funny. Nothing like dry, understated irony.

    2. Zion,

You've hit the nail on the head. It's so true!

Here's a said report for all of you. Some may say this is lashon hara but I know the laws of lashon hara and this is justified. I have seen with my own eyes in UMJC synagogue that they do not speak of evangelism as we know it. They simply don't preach this at all. To the credit of Protestant Christianity, they spread the gospel with every means at their disposal, developing tracts, teaching evangelism classes, etc, etc--this is the norm of Protestant Christianity and they should be commended for their efforts. But in UMJC synagogue there's none of that. They need to be rebuked publicly for this. I wish that every UMJC member out there reading this will address this in your local synagogue. The word must go out! Yeshua has commanded us!

G-d bless each person out there who is unashamed of the gospel and who takes a stand in his community to preach this news even at the risk of social excommunication! Remember, if you deny Yeshua before men then He will deny you before the Father.

  4. There is a MJ congregation here that in oneg they change from Shabbat to Shabbat. One week meat, the other week milk. When asked the leader said that they don't want to offend Jews who come in as visitores.

And I am thinking, how many halacha keeping Jews came to visit this congregation in the last year? How would they know that the congregation exists without being evangelized....?
